Fabulous Friends- the Tennessean

What started as a 50th birthday bash nearly eight years ago has raised nearly $500,000 for Africa, and the group intends to keep it going.

Fabulous Friends for Africa, a Franklin group that throws a party each year to raise money for the needy in Africa, is hosting its eighth annual Valentine’s Party at the Factory in Franklin on Feb. 14.

The event is all about celebrating friends with dancing, food and the cause so close to the founders’ hearts, and new this year will be a buffet-style dinner. Sam Levine and the City Lights Band will also be performing.

The event will benefit the African Leadership, a nonprofit that trains church leaders in 23 African countries.

The group is requesting a minimum donation of $75 per person and $100 per person at the door. Reserving a table for 10 will cost $750. Register at www.fabulousfriendsforafrica.org.
